Introduction
The vast majority of materials have "contraction" property caused by the internal molecular thermal motion. This property should be taken into account for designing engineering structures, manufacturing machinery and equipment, and processing materials (such as welding). Otherwise, the structure stability and equipment accuracy will be compromised. The linear expansion of materials is the material thermal expansion in one-dimension. Linear expansion coefficient is an important parameter for the selection of materials. In particular, it is necessary to measure thermal expansion coefficient in new material research and development.
This experimental apparatus is a direct-reading instrument of solid linear expansion coefficient measurement. It can measure the contraction characteristics and the linear expansion coefficient of materials. This instrument uses a high-precision digital temperature sensor. The micro expansion of the sample is measured by using a dial indicator with high precision. This instrument is ideal for thermal experiment of basic physics in colleges and universities.
